*Due to Coach Kat's surgery, there will be no practice Oct 1st-6th. Practice will resume Wednesday, October 8th.

*Wed. practice time is changing to 2:30 pm - immediately after school. We are hoping to have better track access at this time.

*Friday October 24th practice will be 4:00-5:00.
*Friday October 31st - NO PRACTICE... Happy Halloween!

Practices are $30/session OR $200 for the *month of October.

*Monthly payment will include any additional scheduled team sessions, seminars, or meets during that month at no extra cost. Due to weather and other conflicts, our schedule is sometimes variable. Athletes that pay monthly will be guaranteed a minimum of 7 group sessions offered per month.

 Private & Semi-Private Sessions:
Coach Kat is available for Private & Semi Private lessons on Friday afternoon & evenings. If you would like one at another time, contact Coach Kat for availability. Semi Privates & Private sessions are recommended for athletes who cannot make it to regular group sessions due to living far away or activity in other sports. The private setting allows us to get more work done that is specific to the athlete, allowing them to keep up technically with fewer sessions per month. We recommend 1-4 sessions per month for those athletes.

Privates & Semi Privates are also recommended for Team Members if  you are able. This allows us to dig a little deeper, and get a little pickier technically or allows us to teach a new skill more quickly and gives the athlete a bit of an edge on their progression. We recommend athletes consider a Private/Semi Private session every 1-3 months.

$50 - 1-hour Semi Private Session - These sessions are for 1-2 athletes. These are what Coach Kat recommends, having 2 athletes instead of one still allows for personalized attention, while giving the athletes enough rest between activities without everyone just twiddling their thumbs! Semi Privates sometimes end up being individual sessions (at no extra cost) if no one else is r-questing a Semi Private for that day.

$50 - 1-hour Beginner Session - For the athlete who wants to learn to pole vault for the first time or has vaulted before but wants to join Vertical Edge. Up front, there is a lot of new information for a beginner vaulter. Some basics are required before an athlete can get on the runway. Having a private session for that lets us get through those basics at an accelerated rate and also lets us individualize our coaching for that specific athlete. We recommend athletes take 1-2 Beginner Private Sessions before joining the group sessions.

$80 - 1-hour Private Session  -  Sometimes you just don't want to share the coach for whatever reason, and that's okay too! A private session for 1 athlete.

“Where Rubber Meets the Road

Where the rubber meets the road is the most important point for something, the moment of truth. An athlete can train all day, but the race is where the rubber meets the road and they’ll know how good they really are.

Monthly competition series for Vertical Edge Athletes

“Rubber Meets the Road” is a new practice meet series for our Vertical Edge Athletes. Practice meets will be held once a month. The purpose of these meets is to prepare our athletes for their High School competitive season.

“Coach, where do I put my standards?”
“What step should I run?”     “How do I warm up?”
“What pole do I start on?”    “When do I change poles?”

This is the chance for our vaulters to learn how to take what they learn in the practice sessions and apply it in a competitive setting. These meets are competitions and I expect each athlete to come out and give it 100%.

These meets are built for learning and so it is okay to make mistakes. This is where we learn from them. The more mistakes made here, the fewer are made at the District Championships or the State Meet! I encourage all vaulters to attend each monthly competition as it provides a great setting where I can coach, guide and prepare them to be better competitors!

Come out and cheer or our athletes,
we love all the loud support we can get!
